Xinyang University’s South Recreation Center is designed as an energetic indoor campus hub that brings athletics, wellness, and student life together under one roof. Inside, the triangular layout creates a dynamic sequence of spaces, anchored by bright atriums, open circulation, and visual connections between different activity zones.
The interior includes large multi-sport courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and pickleball, supported by fitness studios, yoga and meditation rooms, social areas, and a dramatic climbing wall. Natural light, transparent partitions, and layered views help the building feel open and connected, turning the recreation center into both a place for movement and a welcoming setting for gathering, relaxation, and campus community.
I was involved in the concept desgin of the interior. The interior design concept centers on creating an active, light-filled campus environment where recreation, wellness, and student connection overlap. Open circulation, bright atriums, and visual transparency allow different programs to feel connected. The result is an energetic yet welcoming interior that supports both high-intensity activity and everyday campus life.
