Gensler designed the 8-floor, 225,000 square feet of new regional headquarters for a confidential financial services client at One Post Office sq in downtown Boston. The project won the Best of Year Awards 2025 in the commercial cafe/cafeteria category by Interior Design Magazine.

Following a major acquisition, the client asked us to fit over a thousand employees in this 225,000-square-foot, eight-floor space. After many rounds of programming and test-fit, we have arrived at a plan that supports key adjacencies and future growth of teams. The design promotes the unification of teams by replacing private offices with flexible work settings, including open workstations, touchdown areas, libraries, phone rooms, and huddle spaces.
The design reimagines the financial services workplace as an open, inclusive, and highly connected environment. A dramatic six-story sculptural stair encourages movement, visibility, and spontaneous interaction across floors, while reception points and cafés on each level create daily moments of welcome and connection. The result is a workplace designed not only for productivity, but also for culture-building, collaboration, and a stronger sense of belonging.
Inspired by the sophistication of a high-end hotel and the energy of a social hub, the headquarters elevates the everyday workplace experience through hospitality-driven amenities. Each floor includes a café to support engagement and informal gathering, while a showcase kitchen, full-service café, and barista bar create a premium food and beverage experience for employees and guests. An expansive 7,000-square-foot terrace offers skyline views and a memorable setting for events, respite, and client interaction. Together with an in-house technology support hub, these amenities create a seamless, service-oriented environment that supports employee well-being, convenience, and pride in the workplace.
I was involved in programming, test-fit, schematic design and Design Development of the project.
